South American Spirit and Football Mania

The Executive Producers are: Juan Jose Campanella’s 100 Bares Producciones, Gaston Gorali’s Catmandu Entertainment. Producers: Jorge Estrada Mora’s Jempsa and Plural--‐Jempsa and the Participation of Canal+, Antena 3, La Sexta, SGR and Telefe.

From the Academy Award-winning director of THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES comes a hilarious animated feature film that perfectly captures the South American spirit and football mania of the World Cup. Young Amadeo is an expert at table football - or foosball - or at least he was until his table is destroyed after being humiliated by his nemesis, Flash. To his amazement, Amadeo's foosball players come to life, and vow to work as a team and help the lad to victory. Named Best Animated Film at the Goya Awards (the Spanish Oscars), FOOSBALL is Argentina's most expensive film ever, as well as the most expensive Latin American animation of all time. But the money is all up there on the screen. FOOSBALL looks every bit as impressive as its Hollywood counterparts, and is sure to have audiences cheering on the team right to the spectacular finale.

SYNOPSIS

Amadeo is a young boy with unlikely friends and a quirky skill: He is the best foosball player ever!

There isn’t a single challenger good enough to be him in the small village where he lives. But the rest of Amadeo's life isn’t as shining as his foosball achievements.

He is in love with his friend Laura, but is too shy to bring himself to open his heart to her. So he just hangs out in his quaint, timeless village.

Amadeo grows up to be the best foosball player of all time. And even though he is a good--‐natured, likeable young man, his life has no direction. His time is spent playing foosball and little else.

Then one day, Amadeo finds his ordinary routine derailed by the return of "Grosso", a kid his age who has come seeking revenge for a match he lost to Amadeo ten years ago. Despite his fame and fortune from being the best soccer player in the world, Ace is hell--‐bent on crushing Amadeo, destroying the bar where he works and his foosball machine, on winning Laura’s affections, and even on turning the village into a "Ace" theme park and stadium.

In the midst of the village being demolished, something extraordinary happens: the figurines in Amadeo’s beloved and dismantled foosball machine come to life! They have souls, they can move and, more importantly, they can play soccer. They are determined to help Amadeo get back the world he has lost. With "Cap" as the captain of his team, and "Solido" as the leader of their tireless rivals, they set off on an amazing adventure that bonds them together as one and makes them see that rivals can become unconditional friends.

When they face each other once again, Ace and Amadeo must settle their old score. But this time it won't be over a foosball table… it will be in a real Soccer stadium.

It’s Ace's glorious team versus the pack of misfits that Amadeo managed to recruit from the village with Laura’s help. Not an easy task.

Only someone as daring as Amadeo would take on such a challenge: an epic match in which Amadeo's honor and the future of the village are at stake. Ensuring his team’s victory is looking impossible. But this is soccer, where miracles happen. Not only will Amadeo and his inept soccer team play a key role in this match, but so will his beloved foosball figurines. His passion will take on a new feeling altogether.
