Center for Child Development of Hong Kong Baptist University will be held a program

for kindergarten students and a parent workshop for early childhood children

parents and educators on April 22 – 25, 2014. The caption programs are supervised< by Mr. Hung Chun Wah, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Education Studies of the Hong Kong Baptist University and he will be the speaker of the parent workshop as well.

The kindergarten children program is “Super Math Junior 2014 – Party with Lion

King”. The target is studying at kindergarten 3 students (K3). The program included

four sessions. Children will learn the basic mathematical concepts and logics, including number patterns, geometric shapes, number addition, and multiplication through dice, card games, geometric puzzle and cooking. These four themes were connected with a story of Lion King inviting his friends (bee, pig, monkey and centipede) to his housewarming party; hence the program was also given the name.

The parent workshop of “Learning Mathematics Workshop Series for Parent:Arithmetic in Early Childhood” is aimed to enhance parents’ knowledge in nurturing and supporting their children’s interest in and learning of mathematics. The focus of the first 4 workshops is on arithmetic in early childhood.
